Building a Hair Care Routine for Dry, Damaged Hair

Wash less, condition more
Over-washing strips the natural oils that keep hair pliable. For most dry hair types, two to three washes a week is plenty, with conditioner every time.
Add a weekly treatment
A bond-repair or protein mask once a week does more for damaged hair than any daily product. Leave it on for the full recommended time.
Seal with an oil
A few drops of lightweight hair oil through the mid-lengths and ends after washing locks in moisture and tames frizz.
Protect against heat
If you use straighteners or a dryer, a heat protectant is not optional. It is the difference between manageable hair and split ends by month three.
